Appello on new Sony Ericsson smartphones

NavigationAppello’s navigation solution Wisepilot has been selected to power the upcoming Sony Ericsson (NYSE: SNE) smartphones P990 and M600 with mobile navigation. Wisepilot will be pre-loaded as a Try & Buy application on the Memory Stick of these phones at launch, offering Sony Ericsson customers an opportunity to try the best and most innovative mobile navigation on the market on two of the most exciting smartphones of this year.

Wisepilot will be available one month free of charge. A direct link from the P990 and M600 will take users directly to the Sony Ericsson Application Shop where they can sign up for a full subscription after the initial trial period. Navigation subscriptions are also available from the Wisepilot website. Wisepilot so far has map coverage in Europe and North America.

Wisepilot provides updated maps and driving or walking directions directly to your mobile phone. When used together with a Bluetooth GPS receiver it offers turn-by-turn navigation with head-up maps and voice directions. Maps are provided by Navteq, a leading provider of digital map data. In selected markets you can search in on-line business and residential directory listings as an alternative way of finding your destination in and get exact speed camera alerts. Pre-planning of trips can be done on the personal web portal.
