Nokia just launched its 6708 Symbian UIQ based smartphone in the Taiwan market, following the availability of the model in the China market since early this year. The launch of the 6708, which is manufactured by BenQ, also marks the end of cooperation between the two companies as BenQ is now striving to build up its own brand (BenQ-Siemens) handset business.
The tri-band GSM, Nokia (NYSE: NOK) 6708 suports a touchscreen, has a built-in 1.3 megapixel camera, and a MiniSD card slot, is also the single Nokia device which runs on the Symbian UIQ platform. Nokia 6708 will be also be available in some Southeast Asian countries, according to sources at Nokia Taiwan.
The 6708 has been enjoying brisk sales in China since its launch, with unit sales reaching 30,000 units a month, according to a May 24 report of the Chinese-language Commercial Times. Total production of the 6708 by BenQ may reach 200,000-300,000 units, the paper noted, citing market sources.

if new product launches at Taiwan market, can you all send me some information as NOKIA is my only choice in hand-phone market. Even if my friend give me one phone but not NOKIA, I will just pass it to my friend as a giveaway.
Thank you for reading my mail,
