Smartphone, an eHealth tool

By Dusan Belic on Friday, June 9th, 2006 at 9:31 AM PST In Applications

Yesterday mentioned Forum Nokia (NYSE: NOK) Blogs, has an interesting post about Symbian devices used in telemedicine and eHealth. Arto Holopainen, specialist with healthcare and mobile workforce (enterprise) related mobile solutions (and also the author of this post), argues such use of smartphones would be beneficiary for patients. He gives an example involving the patient with blood pressure problems. Patient is given orders to take blood pressure measurements at home for certain period of time. Instead of writing down measurements and taking them to his doctor for a feedback, an application could be developed which could automate this process by automatically sending the latest measurements to doctor. Now, that’s a point!
