All of the above ones are bloated or poorly laid out, the best one I have seen thus far are the Qtek 9000 and Eten Glofiish M700 (Phone, PDA, GPS etc etc)

Hi there,

Well, just like the FS Loox T830 (i.e., still unavailable), you could also wait and watch out for the Anextek moboDA 3380 or the Advance Tech Mobile Advanced Global Integrated Communicator (M.A.G.I.C.) coming out of dream world R&D shops near you hopefully soon. Other than that I do agree there are very little choices out there "right now" and (as you have alluded is probably due to) insuffucient leadership coming out of the big shops. I own and do like Nokia's attempts with their N series smartphones but they quickly become outdated and less complete/refined when having to purchase and get accessories like separate gps receiver to work with it while their competitors (Symbian OS or not) have or are trying them integrated already. This is pretty depressing IMHO especially if you have to defend your decision and/or start the shopping process all over again in the future.

BTW, thank you for your refreshing commentary on this subject.

Hopefully, the recent news about the two "former" competitors Nokia and Siemens joining together would find them collaborating to bring a more "perfect all-in-one device" albeit in a less competitive arena.
