Audible, Inc., the leading provider of spoken entertainment and information on the Internet, announced that Sony Ericsson (NYSE: SNE) has selected Audible as a preload partner for its new Symbian OS v9.1 and UIQ 3.0-based phones. The AudibleReady application will be made available on the Memory Stick of the P990 smartphone and M600 messaging device, as well as on an in-box CD with the W950 Walkman phone. Customers who have purchased these Sony Ericsson handsets will now have access to Audible’s digital audio content service over-the-air, via WiFi (on the P990), or as desktop downloads.
The three Sony Ericsson phones will be preloaded with Try & Buy content from Audible.com, Audible.co.uk, Audible.de, and Audible.fr and will enable Sony Ericsson customers around the world to access more than 100,000 hours of Audible’s premium digital content.
As part of the Try & Buy agreement, Audible is offering Sony Ericsson customers five-minute samples of titles in four different languages (French, German, English, and Spanish), from popular works. Audible will also provide Sony Ericsson customers with a free 30-day trial to the Audible service.
Now an idea - this is something what Nokia (NYSE: NOK) could do with their NSeries - to partner with Audible and provide an access to Audible’s library to their customers. Visit this page for more information.
