Nokia 5500 sensor API plug-in

Remember the Nokia 5500 Sport phone and its motion-sensitive features? It includes an internal sensor that provides a continuous output of acceleration values for the device’s three axes (X, Y, and Z). A specialized, pre-loaded application, called the 3D accelerometer, allows other applications to receive information on the device’s motion. The sensor API makes the sensor’s output available for use in other applications, such as sports monitoring and mobile games, and the sensor SDK plug-in is available now!
Nokia (NYSE: NOK) expects to introduce the 3D accelerometer technology to other devices in the future, and it will be interesting to watch companies effectively use this technology to develop new, interesting applications.

Since this phone, which is the best I’ve had so far, is equipped with a rather poor clipthingy. I thought it would be nice with a drop/fall alarm with lights and siren. Dropped the phone walkingthe dog at night an spent 45min retrieving it.
