Sony Ericsson (NYSE: SNE) has released the first public firmware update for its smartphones range. The update affects the Organizer to R3A04 version and also brings several fixes and improvements. The number one improvement is deffinetly a better multitasking, which now allows many huge applications to work at the same time. Mentioned feature had some problems before the update.

To ensure the latest version of the firmware, Sony Ericsson P990i and M600i owners should download Sony Ericsson Update Service software.

I think SEUS application is crap. I tried everything getting it to work but all was in vain. First, I tried from a clean install – SEUS then Flash using IE = Failed checking application version, try reinstalling latest. I went to the SE website, downloaded a fresh SEUS setup then tried reinstalling = same error. uninstalled Flash using the Flash uninstaller from Adobe, reinstalled using IE = same error. Tried to google around then did various things like setting compatibility mode to Win98 and everything in the compatibility tab = no luck. closed any open applications on the taskbar, ensured no windowblinds and set themes to windows default = no luck. I also tried everything while doing a restart per install = no luck.

I would like to suggest to SE that they remove the Flash things in the SEUS so that it wouldn’t require Flash. They should focus on getting the SEUS to work what it was meant for. If they are very imposing of Flash, they shouldn’t limit its installation in IE only. They should be aware that not all of us use that browser. SEUS should be developed as an install-then-run (plug n’ play) application for user-friendliness. They must be educated that not all of us has technical knowledge of the installation steps as well as the combination when installing SEUS and Flash.
