Mobile search: Reality check

Mobile searchWe’ve already had some mobile search related numbers from the Mobile Marketing Association. Apparently, the mentioned figures were too optimistic. A new report from M:Metrics suggests that only about 5% of all mobile phone users in the US use mobile search. The number one reason for this low figure is a bad user experience.

Advertising Age has an interesting article on the subject titled “Not Into Mobile Search? Just Wait a Couple Years”. The author, Alice Z. Cuneo, cites Forrester Research and points out that roughly 80% of marketers say that despite the fact that they are already using or plan to use the search marketing, they are not ready for the mobile search yet.
