SlovoEd 2.1 for Nokia communicators released

Epocware today announced the new version of SlovoEd line dictionaries for Nokia (NYSE: NOK) 9300/9500 communicators. SlovoEd 2.1 provides customers with traditionally high-quality translation and includes new brand features that make language study and dictionary operations more practical and efficient.

New SlovoEd 2.1 version was developed with active assistance and support of Nokia, and partners of Paragon Software Group – Merriam-Webster Inc., Van Dale Lexicografie BV, Larousse Editiorial, S.L., MAGENTA LTD, LingoMAXX, and MediaLingua.

The new version has an upgraded engine, specially designed to foresee user translation needs. The customers will enjoy 3 new features Sound Modules, Word of the Day, Flash Cards. The Sound Modules will include 5 languages (English, German, French, Italian and Spanish). German Sound Module is available for the first time. Moreover, SlovoEd 2.1 enables users to enrich their vocabulary in most effective way using Word of The Day and test the knowledge and memory with the help of Flash Card quiz.

SlovoEd 2.1 other features:

• Rapid access to database, low memory consumption due to unique compression technology that provides with high data compression ratio (100,000 entries in 600 KB) to help customer wisely manage his time
• Dictionary installation on memory cards to save main memory-space for other programs and applications
• Search Module: if there are any doubts about word spelling, customer can search for the word using “?” and “*” symbols instead of doubtful letters
• Quick search of frequently used words from the 15 words list to see the translation for any word any time
• Cross-lookup feature between articles and directions to check customers’ comprehension
• Optional letter size and color markup to set customer interface in accordance with customers’ taste
• Simple and easy-to-use interface, available in 8 different languages.

SlovoEd dictionary is produced in 3 editions in order to choose the most acceptable one. SlovoEd Deluxe includes the most complete and detailed translation articles with usage samples, as well as synonyms, antonyms, references, transcriptions along with other important information. SlovoEd Classic includes a considerable number of entries, extended dictionary articles with basic references. SlovoEd Compact requires minimal memory space on device, including at the same time the most common translations with clear, concise definitions.
