Nokia E62 vs T-Mobile Dash

Some time ago, we had a duel of high-end camera mobile phones – namely Nokia N90 vs N93, and guess who won? This time, I’m presenting you a QWERTY smartphones duel – Nokia (NYSE: NOK) E62 vs T-Mobile (NYSE: DT) Dash. To make things even saucier, one of the phones runs Symbian OS and the other Windows Mobile. So, it’s kind a mobile OS duel.

Nokia E62 vs T-Mobile Dash

The comparison is conducted by the infoSync site and they’ve announced a winner – T-Mobile Dash. But wait a minute. T-Mobile Dash has an integrated WLAN, whereas E62 doesn’t. The comparison should be between T-Mobile Dash and E61. My guess is that the comparison is conducted from the perspective of a U.S. market, where E61 is still not widely present.

Nevertheless, it’s an interesting article comparing the two devices in several categories including design, messaging, productivity, calling, connectivity, multimedia and performance. T-Mobile Dash scored 79% and Nokia E62 73%. Again, add WLAN to E62 and you have a new winner.

However, I find Dash’s form factor interesting. It’s the same as E62’s, but a bit smaller – 111.5 x 62.5 x 13 mm compared to E62’s 117 x 69.7 x 14 mm. This is something Nokia could think of in the future. I like E61/E62, but it’s way too large. The smaller form would make E61/E62 even more appealing to the customers. Plus, add a high-quality camera and a GPS and you got me. :)

Also interesting: Steve from AllAboutSymbian compared Nokia E61 with Palm Treo 750v.
