See I like what Kevin says, but I'm still not a believer in the 4 digit system.

American's can remember 3 digit numbers fairly well, 2 digit numbers extremely well.

Then again the Nokia 61 Buisness is just a long and unsexy product name.

Samsung has the blackjack, Motorola has the Q. Nokia has the E61 ...

However blackberry seems to have major success despite their horrible naming conventions, so the theory that name dictates sales is broken by them.

Sure, it's unique. But you can't shave with the phone. :-) (well, who knows)

Oh well, I'm looking forward to seeing what will happen. I like what Kevin Sharp writes at a Forum Nokia blog <a href="http://blogs.forum.nokia.com/view_entry.html?id=206" rel="nofollow">http://blogs.forum.nokia.com/view_entry.html?id=206</a> about an additional name, a sort of epithet in conjunction with the number code.

While I do like short product names like N93, it's the long ones like 6620, 7373, etc.

The 4 digit ones are what get me.

But ultimately the people prefer simple names. RAZR is very unique, you can't forget it after someone tells you that.

Ooh, I love the video! We only get a shortened version of the ad on TV.

I very much prefer the simple, alphanumeric product names (I hope I'm not the only one). Razr and things sound so pathetic...

That was an excellent read, thank you.

I'll have to throw my 2 cents in at a later date since I'm in a rush but I'm glad to read something from the perspective of the marketer as opposed to a consumer.

Very Socratic style debate.

Well, I don't like the alphanumeric product names either, but naming business is not so easy:
