Adobe has posted Flash Lite 2.1 player for S60 3rd Edition devices for free download. I quickly tested installing the player on N93. It works and plays Flash content! Enjoy!

Oh, yes. Of course also earlier editions of S60 platform are supported (2nd Edition FP2 & FP3 devices).

Wicked! I’m going to download this right now! Will report my findings later.

Update: OK … installed it and the web it the same as it always was haha. Guess I’m future proofed however for whatever new Flash Lite applications get released.

    Ciao Stephan,

    it’s kind of tricky.
To run Flash Lite 2.x apps you need to open first the Flash player, the icon is with the one with “Flash” as text. Then you will get to the same directories of the FL1.1 player that is embedded into the phone. So you can put some FL2.x content and execute it.

Just remember the FL2.x player can playback any previous version of FL content, the reverse is not true! Let me know if you want to look at some particular apps.

I’d love a list of some apps. It’s very difficult to find any! I figure you would know about all of them since you’re the top blogger on the subject of Flash Lite.

I noticed that I could not remove Flash Lite 1.1 after I installed Flash Lite 2.1. Is this normal?

  • Alessandro

    Ciao

if you have a 3rd edition phone which is a FL1.1 enabled phone, you cannot remove FL1.1 since it is part of the OS.
It’s like the browser or other apps that are integrated into the OS.
