What should “Voice over WiFi” be called?

By Stefan Constantinescu on Tuesday, December 5th, 2006 at 3:31 AM PST In Uses for you Nokia phone

Tommi is frustrated over the fact that there is no easy way to say "Voice over WiFi" without confusing people into submission. I like "Net Call" simple, two words, very descriptive, it’s a call … over the net! Hell you can even cut the space out and just call it a netcall.

"Dammit Frank, I don’t have any signal in here!"
"Can you make a netcall?"
"Frank WTF is a netcall?"
"You use your wireless network to make a call dumbass, hence the term ‘netcall’ … got it?"
"I love you Frank!"
"Too much information Ted."

Got a little carried away in my mini screen play there. What term would you guys suggest?

  1. I think “WiBother” would be an appropriate name. ;)

  2. I know you’re being sarcastic, but being able to make a call from your own wifi network is important.

Might not be important when a country is blanketed in WiMax, but that is atleast a decade off in my opinion.

    I hope I’m proved wrong.
