Welcome Neil! Now I warn you, I’m very cynical when it comes to security. As a former sysadmin I can tell you that in the end it is the user who is the last step in getting and transmitting viruses. You can have the most advanced security solution on any device, but it’s the user who clicks OK and Accept.
I still maintain my opinion that the best security solution is common sense. Current S60v3 devices have a hell of a lot of conformation dialogs, and while I find them annoying, I welcome that they ask a user "Are you really really sure about this?!"
Anyway I don’t want to rain on your parade, welcome to the S60 blogs and I look forward to your posts!

Cool, haven’t been an sysadmin before (except for my blog
or something but I think its a nice addition to the blogging community. Mobile devices get more advanced and holds more personal (and work related) information which easily can be lost. Good initiative.
well losing a device is more often than not user error. every man does the 3 piece check when leaving point A to go to point B
Wallet … Check
Phone … Check
Keys … Check
