Update your Nokia N80 to Internet edition
By Dusan Belic on Thursday, December 14th, 2006 at 3:26 am PST In Devices, NSeries, Nokia, Symbian
Nokia NSeries blog reports how to update Nokia (NYSE: NOK) N80 to Internet edition. As it’s the case with N73, product code should be changed. After the update, N80 users get more applications on their device, including Yahoo Go and WLAN Wizard… Full instructions are available from here or here.
As usual, we must warn you that this procedure will invalidate any warranty on your handset.

Hi there!
I have been trying to upgrade my n80 to n80ie for a while now and i have figured it is my computer that doesn’t have the capability to do this! So i am wondering if it be possible that you do a memory backup of your n80ie and send me a copy of your memory card as i think this will allow me to change my software (i think)..
Does the back up store your handset version, if so this should work.
Thanks

Hi, you need to change firt the product code of your n80 to a product code of n80ie in your country. There is a software for that. After changing, you can now download the firmware for n80ie using Nokia (NYSE: NOK) Software Updater. You now have the n80ie phone…

hey i have a question, and its possible i may figure it out before i get a reply, but anyways here goes. I just got a N80 off of ebay the other day. It came from canada, had los angeles time, rogers (NYSE: RCI) sim card and 02 services. i guess thats not really important, sorry. anyways i played around with it for a while and got some settings and made a backup before i changed the product code and updated to IE. it had that cool menu on the front and stuff, but after i restored the backup its gone…
question is, how do i get it back? and will it work with any theme or only ones designed for it?
and just one more question, im having alot of trouble connecting to routers with wep security, it seems even with the new firmware (though ive only tested it on my home network which my laptop doesnt really want to connect with either… anyways any help much appreciated
peace out

oh and one more thing.. someone said the problem with wifi connectivity is that the name of the phone is Nokia (NYSE: NOK) N80 (with a space) which is not supported by many routers. idn if this is true but it said to change the name to delete the space, but where the hell would i go to do that?
