Video: How not to do mobile phone reviews

I see a lot of nice sites out there with their fancy artwork and CSS themes that make you wonder how much money they paid a competent designer. While I could be jealous of them, after all they do get to play with the latest devices on the market, they simply produce some of the worst videos I’ve ever seen in my life. I’m a geek, I know what kind of content I like. These videos don’t deliver at all:

First off we have Mobile Gadgets reviewing the Nokia 5300

Now we have Tech Digest checking out the Nokia N73 being offered by UK provider "3"

I’m left shaking my head. If you’re going to take the time to upload and edit a video, then why not take the time to make a fantastic video?

If you want to see an example of what I think golden quality content is then you have to check out the work Jonathan Greene did.

Now as for me … well I can only wish. I don’t have a camcorder or better yet a Nokia N93 <cough cough> and more importantly phones to review <COUGH COUGH>. Chances are looking slim that I’ll get a N93 to be able to live blog CES. Oh well, maybe next year after I’ve built some trust with Nokia. I don’t blame them, I’ve been blogging for less than 1 month!
