There were about 570,000 handsets sold in Taiwan last month, and Nokia continued to have the largest market share with a 29% occupation of both total sales volume and value, according to local retail channels.

Samsung Electronics ranked fourth with market share of over 8% in terms of sales volume, while LG Electronics’ occupation was slightly less than 3%.

None of the top-five brands were Taiwan brands, with OKWAP (owned by Inventec Appliance) sharing 3% of total sales volume, Asus (Asustek Computer) and BenQ each occupying less than 3% and WIN II (Tecom) occupying about 1%.

But aren’t Nokia phones expensive in Taiwan?
Do they afford a Nokia cell phone ?

  • Stefan Constantinescu

I wouldn’t know anything about the price of phones in Taiwan versus the salary of an average man.

this is interesting. I had the impression that companies like OKWAP and BenQ had more market share (maybe not more than Nokia, but more than 3%…)

I know Taiwanese are very tech savvy and style conscious. I’m glad Nokia is doing well there :)
