Why does the Nokia 770 include Opera and not something built on WebKit?

Apparently John Tokash has been having problems using Google Reader (my absolute favorite RSS reader of all time) on his Nokia (NYSE: NOK) 770. Until today I never knew the 770 ran Opera. All I have to ask is why?
Why not build something from the ground up using the same open source browser you throw on all Symbian Series 60 devices? More importantly whenever Flash 9 gets released (final release, it’s already out in beta) for Linux, are you going to have a port available on your internet tablet?
Not supporting youtube or google (NSDQ: GOOG) video is quite a turn off for me. Speaking about things to port, can some one please pay someone to port VLC to the 770?

A Mozilla browser build suitable for the 770 is available from maemo.org.
Hmm… VLC for the 770 might be something I’ll look into working on. I’ll see how feasible it is. Maybe my next *solid.gold.code project.
