Nokia (NYSE: NOK) is said to have a war chest of €9 billion for acquisitions. What are the types of companies you are looking for, and will you be looking at Australia?
Our practice has been to buy small to medium companies. Geography does not matter. We go where we can find good technology, good people and good markets.
Gate5 is German. Loudeye is a US-British company, so all markets are possible and definitely we will also look at Australia.
Why has Nokia not cracked the Japanese or Korean markets?
Japan’s mobile phone technology is different from technologies elsewhere in the world. We felt it was not commercially viable to enter that market.
The Japanese market is now moving to third-generation mobiles and the Koreans are moving as well.
That means their technology is becoming the same as elsewhere. This development is opening up access to the Japanese market.
That is why we are seeing a sizeable upside. Japan is a very advanced market. We have been investigating the Japanese market and there are many high-end users who like technology.

I have ur mobile n-91, imi no 358391000551938 . I purchase it on 6/6/06. From the 2nd month I m facing lots of problems. It get hang off, restart/reboot. Regularly. I give this handset to hcl serval times . the j no. is 1200152224, 1500205158, 1500170198, 1200145286, 1500216126………
From ur side every time I got the response that your phone is ok but I face again n again the same problem . last to last time(richa) and last time nokia pepol(Mr kernee singh) promise me to swap this
Phone to new phone but they break promise every time .now I get fed up of nokia phone
And nokia people. Tell me why I purchase this phone for me or for nokia care. it comes to you 5 time now n-care is saying again it is ok if u got any problem we will swap this phone into new one. How can I trust it again and how many time I have to come to u more? Tell me why I take this faulty set. People purchase things for make their life easy but ur product make me in trouble
Please help me swap my phone into new one.

I have experienced the most disappointment time with my NOKIA n-91. The phone shutdown and reboot again and again. I have sent it in for numerous repairs for a brand new phone..
It cost me 5 trips and countless hours to wait in queue and not factoring in my travelling costs and time cost also. The centre & technical manager does not have the courtesy to show their face or call me to clarify the problems .
As such I see a justifiable & valid reason to replace my problematic set with other models.
I have given enough patience and consideration to settle this matter with Nokia Care Line regionally but I don’t think nokia care , cares about us. You pepol ask me we r giving u replacement into new one but today I got call frm ur side mr. manoj(9999106591) ask me please collect that same set it is ok now tell me when its not get ok in 10 months and 5 visit how can this time I belive ? tell me one thing how many times I have to go nokia care
