Nokia (NYSE: NOK) employees speaking at the event:
- Dr. Tero Ojanperä: Technology Symposium Session: Defining the Next Technological Evolution
- Harri Männistö: Mobile TV Panel
- Mary McDowell: Name of session to come
- Simon Beresford-Wylie: Name of session to come
The live webcast will be February 12th between 11:00 and 12:00 CET (+1) time. 5 AM in NYC, 2 AM in California, 4 AM for me in Texas.
My predictions: The Nokia E61i, E65, E90 unleashed. Something in my gut makes me want to believe there is a forth phone that will be unveiled. We will find out soon enough!
Notes for Nokia:
- Easy on the flash there killer! I had to type out all the information, no copy and pasting.
- Please start a blog in a similar fashion that the Nokia World 2006 blog was run.

I am also hoping for some S40 series phones.
Btw, I found this news bit extremely interesting and demonstrating how Nokia is kicking everyone else’s butt in the ultra low end at this moment (not sure how the new Motophone fares in this regard):
“Investointipankki Nomuran analyytikko Richard Windsor painottaa, että kehittyvien markkinoiden kasvu on Nokian kannalta hyvä asia.
– Nokian ykköspaikkaa halvimmissa puhelimissa ei uhkaa oikeastaan yksikään kilpailija. Laskelmiemme mukaan Nokian katteet halvimmissa puhelimissa ovat 12–14 prosenttia, kun taas pahimmalla kilpailijalla Motorolalla ne ovat kaksi prosenttia.”
Ok, I’ll summarize since I know your Finnish is still rather weak..
What it says is that Investment Bank Nomura’s analyst Richard Windsor thinks that Nokia has a profit margin of 12-14% in its cheapest phones (i.e. 1100 etc.) where as Motorola has ONLY 2%!!!! Wow, if that’s true it is just an amazing difference!
