ERP5 goes mobile

By Dusan Belic on Thursday, February 1st, 2007 at 3:46 AM PST In Applications, Services, Symbian

Nexedi, the creator of ERP5, free open source ERP platform, ERP5has released the first open source ERP for smartphones today – ERP5 Mobile.

The addition of ERP5 Mobile to the collection of freely available Business Templates makes it possible to access ERP5 from any web enabled mobile device such as the Nokia (NYSE: NOK) E61 smartphone.

The web enabled and standard compliant Nokia E61 smartphone was certified for ERP5 Mobile as “reference development environment”. The Nokia E61 smartphone was selected because of its effective design and because of the implication of Nokia (with the exception of its patent department) in favour of open source / free software such as Python.

ERP5 Mobile can be downloaded from the public repository at ERP5.

  1. It makes me very happy to see other vendors present ERP solutions on the mobile. I just came home from our showing ov HansaWorld version 5.2 in Seattle for Cingular on a Symbian event. HansaWorld can run on Mac, Windows, Linux desktops and on Microsoft Mobiles 5 and Nokias S60 devices like the E61, E61i ands others.
