Nokia (NYSE: NOK) and Rogers (NYSE: RCI) Wireless today launched the enhanced Rogers MusicStore and two new mobile handsets equipped with the Rogers Music Player to meet demand from Canadians who want their music on the go.
With hundreds of thousands of tracks, the newly enhanced Rogers MusicStore is unique on the market as it gives music fans the flexibility to download tunes on the fly -to their wireless phone or online with their PC.
The Nokia 5300 XpressMusic and Nokia 6085 are the only mobile phones available in Canada that are Windows Media DRM compatible. This means that consumers have the ultimate in flexibility to access music – over the air from
the Rogers MusicStore or sideloading unprotected and Windows protected music from a PC using a USB cable. The two Nokia handsets, now available in North America for the first time, meet a strong demand from the Canadian marketplace, according to a new study conducted by Ipsos Camelford Graham on behalf of Nokia Canada. The
research found that just over half (52%) of Canadians will consider purchasing a new mobile phone in the next two years that incorporates a music player.According to the study, when it comes down to selecting a manufacturer for a mobile phone that includes a camera or music player, not surprisingly an overwhelming 90 per cent of consumers would most trust a company that primarily manufactures mobile phones to manufacture the best quality device.

I wish I had my N93 on me today. I walked in to the library and everyone had those awful sounding white ear buds Apple (NSDQ: AAPL) provides with every iPod jammed in to their skull. The cool part? Everyone had them hooked up to their phone!
There are a lot of Sony Ericson’s on campus, what gives?
