Texas Instruments (NYSE: TXN) announced its next generation BlueLink 6.0 platform that combines the industry’s best performance Bluetooth wireless technology with high fidelity FM stereo and mono performance on a single (industry’s smallest) chip.
The BlueLink 6.0 platform provides complete hardware and software support, enabling ease of design and speeding time to market for mobile device manufacturers. In addition, TI’s solution supports streaming FM stereo music from the handset to a Bluetooth-enabled headset.
This may come very interesting as we know that Nokia (NYSE: NOK) is the TI’s largest customer. So, we could expect that this TI’s announcement affects the industry as Nokia and other handset manufacturers decide to integrate it in the future mobile phones. The new smaller chips leaves more space for some other phone’s enhancements.
