Paul’s definitely been busy:

Over the last couple of days a few folks have shown some images from the N95 that have been color corrected. I thought I would demonstrate color correction for the video.

I’m using Final Cut Pro 4 HD. I’m using the three way color corrector filter and reading the image information using the built in scopes so that I can get the correct black, white, and mid tone levels. I’m also able to ensure that I get the proper skin tone level.

You can do these corrections using Final Cut Express HD but the express version doesn’t have to scopes needed for accuracy. If you want to learn how to do this yourself, I suggest subscribing to Lynda.com. They have great tutorials on Final Cut.

I’m going to be perfectly honest. I can spot the difference very clearly, but it doesn’t make a huge difference. Like you said Paul, it’s frankly over kill.

I think it has to do with the fact that we, as humans, aren’t paying attention to all the details in a moving sequence as opposed to a still image.

Great job tho. Dedication!

I’m curious to see what James comes up with.
