I wrote about this earlier but apparently misread.
Every Nokia device released running S60 uses a TI processor. Renesas, a company out of Japan, recently demonstrated S60 3rd Edition running on their SH-Mobile processor. That’s huge news folks.
The official press release goes in to much more detail and actually has some interesting material on the SH-Mobile chip.
Hope this clears everything up.
Let’s see if this will bring the cost of S60 devices down.
Then again I wonder: How much does the processor inside contributes to the price of the actual device?
