Freeware GPS Review

As GPS-based services get increasingly popular (Nokia (NYSE: NOK) recently joined the game with its Smart2Go release), Symbian-Guru prepared a mini site to compare 3 free Java-based navigation apps.
Testing “equipment” included Nokia E62 and a Nokia LD-1W BT GPS Receiver. He tested amAze, Nav4All, and MGMaps.
As nothing in life is free, these applications download maps as you drive, so you will use a lot of data. Therefore, it is suggested that you have an unlimited data package before using any of them.
I don’t want to spoil Symbian-Guru’s article by revealing the winner. You’ll have to find that out for yourself. Here’s the link.

Why only navigating? What about playing outdoors with others in a treasure hunt like game? “Tourality - move your mobile!” is such a game, and its freeware! You can play it in Singleplayer, Player vs. Player and even Team vs. Team mode with up to 40 people - as stated on the website.. Tourality.com provides all the infos with screenshots and free download etc. cheers
Jeremy’s right, why not compare some GPS Games? Please have a look at http://www.fastfoot.mobi , home of FastFoot-Challenge. The game in short: 1 ‘X’ must flee his 3-4 pursuers, called ‘Runners’. A typical game lasts 30 min and is played in a round area of 1 km radius. All transport means are allowed. No preparation like creating maps and stuff is required, so the game can be played all over the world! The game is also fun playing in teams, so ‘X’ and every single ‘Runner’ can actually be a team of up to 5 persons. And… it’s all for free!
I need to use GPS.
