Acceleration sensor usage concepts

Over at Forum Nokia (NYSE: NOK) Blogs, Andreas Jakl, presented some interesting new concepts for the acceleration sensor which comes built-in with the Nokia 5500 Sport and Apple (NSDQ: AAPL)’s iPhone.
The article goes through two examples. The first one deals with snowboarding, where the application (gBoarder) monitors the movements of the boarder and provides some stats to the boarder like the number of crashes you’ve had or your longest jump.
The second application (carMeter) measures car’s acceleration and displays the g-force in real time on the display. This is a brand new idea that should make driving a car more interesting.
