In Announcements, Research, Technologies
Cell phones of the future may be powered by sugar. Thanks to some sweet research from Saint Louis University, batteries powering small portable devices may use sugar as their power source - redefining the way we “juice up.” Apparently, “ these sweet batteries run almost three to four times longer on a single charge than their everyday lithium ion counterparts.”
Professor of chemistry Shelley Minteer’s research found that, compared to tree sap, flat soda, sweetened drink mix, plain sugar water seemed to work best. She thinks we could see sugar-powered batteries within 5 years.

In Announcements, Devices, Rumors, T-Mobile
The Sidekick ID, that we’ve been hearing so much about in the past few days, has been spotted wearing a variety of fun colors. The “lite” version of the Sidekick was leaked on T-mobile (NYSE: DT)’s website, in a T-mobile rebate form (they just can’t seem to keep this thing under wraps). It seems T-mobile will be offering a handy $50 kickback for new users, with a launch date of April 18.

In Devices, Nokia, RIM (Research in Motion), Symbian, T-Mobile
Those lucky Brits. T-Mobile (NYSE: DT) in the UK just added two great devices to its offering. The first one is the Nokia N95 “multimedia computer”, whose price starts from £0 and goes up to £289.99. The other one is RIM’s flagship BlackBerry 8800g, priced in a £0-159.99 range. Of course, in order to get any of these devices, you’ll have to sign for an appropriate contract. Still, it’s good to see two of the top devices available on any carrier.

In Nokia
And now something completely… weird…

This photo represents a Nokia (NYSE: NOK) 7250 coffin! Talking about brand recognition… Of course, the Finish company has nothing to do with it, as it’s one of the several custom-designed caskets from Accra, Ghana. (via: Engadget)

In Devices, Mobile TV, Sagem
Who says that French Sagem can only make cheap feature phones. One of their latest devices is the tri-band My750C myMobileTV, which as the name says, is a DVB-H mobile TV-capable device. The Sagem My750C myMobileTV is the company’s flagship product, and features a 2 MP camera with 8x digital zoom, an integrated music (MP3) player, and a standard QVGA 262k colors screen.

In Devices, Helio
One of the devices that caught most of the attention during the CTIA, was certainly the dual-slider Helio Ocean. This phone packs both numerical and QWERTY keypad, and also comes with integrated popular social networks (i.e. MySpace). Plus, the popular IM clients are also preinstalled on the device. And now, thanks to the TechEblog we have the Helio Ocean video preview. Enjoy!

In Devices, Nokia
I was always bothered with the look of the Nokia (NYSE: NOK) 8800. Somehow, Finish giant “forgot” that such device requires the addition of precious materials and diamonds.

Luckily for us, Olinari, a company that prides itself with the “Uncommon design” tagline, made the Nokia 8800 Sirocco Edition look much better. Now you can have the Nokia 8800 Sirocco Edition looking like the phone used by the King Arthur himself. (via: RingNokia)

In Devices, Palm, Palm OS, Rumors, Sprint
The new Garnet-powered Treo 755p is coming to Sprint (NYSE: S). Apparently, the new device will have the 700p-like 1.3 MP camera, but will also be slimmer, lighter, and easier to hold thanks to concave surfaces on the phone’s sides. The big news is that the Treo 755p will be an EV-DO enabled device, bringing more speed to the Palm (NSDQ: PALM) OS fans. It is still not known when we’ll see the new Treo available, but I would look for it withing a month or so. (via: Engadget)

In Blog Updates
This week was insane: job interviews upon job interviews upon job interviews.
I’ve been reading my RSS feeds, just not posting. I’m seriously thinking of adopting the new blog format to make things easier for me.
Between All About Symbian and Darla Mack there should be no problem keeping up with the latest Nokia (NYSE: NOK) related goodness on the Internet.
Blogging speed will pick up the pace sooner rather than later. I promise.
I should have used the same blogging engine Dave Winer has. I like that format.
Update: I’ve made a new goal for myself; by the end of April there will be a blog roll on the right hand side of this page. There are too many awesome sites that I could definitely start pushing traffic to.

In The Digital Life
Now that we’ve covered the basics of what you need to start your own “digital revolution,” let’s get into the specifics for different solutions. This time around, we’ll talk about (my all-time favorite) the Tablet PC. There are many fish out in that vast Tablet PSea and even more options for applications, so lets sort them out.
