Dear Nokia: Make the S60 web browser separate

If we all ask for it then maybe it just might happen.
Here is what the official Web Browser for S60 blog has to say:
There seem to be a number of people who want the S60 Browser to be
available outside the S60 platform release system — for example, as a
SIS file — and be upgradeable without, you know, reflashing your
entire phone (or buying a new one). Believe it or not, we agree. But we
don’t control everything… yet…<note_to_self>insert
evil laugh here</note_to_self> and so far our argument hasn’t
carried the day. Some more suggestions can’t hurt, either to the S60 Wish List or to Nokia. You’ll probably have to navigate to your region, then look for a Contact Us link.Like it says in Alice’s Restaurant, if two people do it, they’ll think…*ahem* well, you have to check the lyrics for that, but if fifty people do it, it’s a movement!
I’ve been saying this for a long long time. It is one of my 20 New Year’s Resolutions for Nokia.
Let Nokia (NYSE: NOK) know how you feel! Until then, I’ll stick with Opera and I look forward to version 9.

So you would pay for an Opera? Some of the features listed in the AAS link look dubiously the same as in the Web browser for S60..
They have a 30 day trial. Don’t knock it until you’ve tried it.
The point I’m trying to emphasize Henrikki is that any time Opera wants to release an updated, better, less buggy version, then I can get it.
With S60 I’m limited to having to purchase a new phone.
I have tried Opera. I’m not saying that it’s bad. Still in my opinion the already existing version of the S60 browser in my N73 and in your E61 is better than the Opera. And it’s free!..:).
I do have working 3G data, so if you have to count your data bytes or rely anything slower than EDGE I would recommend the Opera Mini. I have it installed and even use to check the mail in my other gmail-account (the other being defaulted to gmail’s own app). It’s handy with it’s password memory.
Anything else I do with the S60 Browser…and mainly with Google reader, of course.
