Palm preps a new WiMAX-enabled ultra-thin smartphone!?

By Dusan Belic on Wednesday, March 7th, 2007 at 1:31 PM PST In Devices, Palm, Rumors

PalmEngadget received this information from the anonymous tipster. And I do agree with their conclusions – it’s not that likely that this will come true, but Palm (NSDQ: PALM) could use a new, fresh product. And I don’t mean a Treo with a better camera, but a real new smartphone. Something, that could hold the company for the next 2 years.

If this turns true, it’s more than likely that the new WiMAX device will run Windows Mobile. I just couldn’t imagine Garnet going anywhere. It’s basically stuck, and we’re all waiting for the first ALP-based device. Anyway, just to give a bit of hope for the bright future to all the Palm fans…

I really hope Palm comes out with something good this time. I still love my Treo 650 but it’s starting to get pretty dated. Even so, I think Garnet did a great job even to this day of making a truely functional phone blend with a PDA.
