Zune phone patents

Zune patentYesterday we’ve talked about patents behind the iPhone. Now, it’s Microsoft’s turn. Despite no official confirmation from Redmond whether Zune phone will ever be released, speculations are flying around the Web.

Again, it’s the Mad4MobilePhones website, where we read about the patents that define the Zune phone. Among them, we find patents about the speech enhancement/filtering, on-screen keyboard, capacitance touch slider (someone said “iPhone!?”) Furthermore, patent fillings suggest two different form factors – thin (brick form factor!?) smartphone and a clamshell. Seems confusing, but who knows – maybe Microsoft does prepare two devices…
