FCC fillings reveal the AT&T SMT5700 smartphone

According to the FCC fillings, Cingular (sorry that’s AT&T (NYSE: T)) is working to introduce a new device in the already crowded “QWERTY keyboard” smartphone market. Interestingly, the SMT5600 will be the first smartphone with the new AT&T branding, and will most likely run Windows Mobile 5. Next, this is the first device manufactured by Chinese company Amoi, that will be carried by the U.S. operator. This smells like a budget QWERTY smartphone and in that sense may easily find its buyers. We’ll see… (via: Engadget)
