Sony Ericsson patents universal remote

It seems that the upcoming Sony Ericsson (NYSE: SNE) devices will come bundled with some kind of a universal remote control. The idea behind the patent that Swedish-Japanese company filled for seems quite simple – take a mobile phone with a touchscreen (UIQ!?), add the interfaces for various devices with an update option (for additional interfaces), make the phone transmit different signals, and… Voila – there’s the universal remote.
