Nokia (NYSE: NOK), one of the world leaders in mobile communications, is confident India will emerge as the second-largest mobile phone market by 2010. At present, it is the third-largest mobile phone market in terms of volume sales for Nokia, after the US and China, respectively.

"India is one of the fastest growing markets right now in terms of mobile phone consumption and usage. As this trend is expected to continue, we are planning to cash in on it and soon have the country emerge as the second-largest consumer for Nokia by 2010," said Sunil Dutt (pictured right), director-sales, Nokia India.

Nokia believes launching affordable yet stylish handsets with several appealing features is the key to growth.

"We would launch handsets and solutions in line with user needs. We carry out extensive research to ensure we tap every potential market and customer need as we move ahead," said Dutt.
