According to Forbes, Apple may have a harder time reaching the 10 million mark for iPhone sales by the end of 2008, as Steve Jobs announced in his Jan. keynote. First, the market may not be as big as Steve thought. Smartphones only accounted for 10% of worldwide mobile phone sales. Then there’s the issue of the competition - LG, Nokia, Samsung will be fighting for some of that market. And how will the Cingular exclusivity plan work out for Mr Jobs? Add a prohibitively high cost and that 10 MILLION unit goal looks a lot further away.
