Papigo! – a cell phone for Japanese kids

I’ve said it before, and I’m saying it again – Japanese mobile phone market rocks! Not because of the device(s) I’m going to mention here, but because of its competitiveness, that make companies differentiate their products heavily in order to sell something.

Latest invention involves “Papipo!” – a toy-like cell phone for kids, designed bu Willcom and the toy vendor Bandai. The device comes in 7 different designs, 5 of them targeting girls and 2 boys. Some of the devices have such names as Hello Kitty, Tamagochi, and Dragons. The price is also right. It doesn’t sound much to pay about $40 for a phone for your kid in Japan.
