Meizu M8 Is Now miniOne, Is Still iPhone Knockoff

Remember a long time ago, when the Meizu version of the Apple (NSDQ: AAPL) iPhone was called the M8? Well, a lot has happened in a month or two. Meizu decided that the M8 didn’t infringe on enough copyrights out there and decided to rename its blatant knock-off as the Meizu miniOne. Thats a nice name isn’t it? It just rolls right off the tongue. Well, apparently, another company thought it was a nifty name too. Venzero, makers of the miniONE mp3 player, seems to have dibs on this name. Aside from the different capitalization, they are the same name. Is Meizu gunning for the same trademark troubles that Apple got into with Cisco? Does Meizu want the same free publicity that Apple has been getting? Probably…I do want one now (sort of).
