NTP Vs. Palm Battle On Hold

NTP has been told to hold its horses in its ongoing fight to sue Palm (NSDQ: PALM) for patent infringments. NTP is alleging that the wireless email exchange technology that Palm utilizes is actually built on technology patented by NTP. A federal judge has ordered a stay in proceedings to allow time for the USPTO to review the patents in question and make a decision on the validity of NTP’s claims. We all remember a similar situation between Research In Motion and NTP, and we all remember how it came down to a fizzle and a pop with a settlement shutting both sides up. Hopefully everything will settle out the way we’ve seen it happen before. Now, we just have to wait for the USPTO to make its move.
