Plusmo: Widsets competitor

I haven’t checked it out yet. To be honest I’m not too crazy about Widsets in the first place.
This post is for the developers out there working on Widsets to get a look at what other people are doing:
My main issue with all these mobile phone data aggregators is the fact that there is no web counterpart. I can read widsets only on my mobile phone, however the website is merely used to manage which widsets I want to enable or disable.
What would impress me?
Netvibes and Pageflakes are at the leading edge of rich start page development. Get some of their guys to work with some Nokia (NYSE: NOK) guys and make a web and mobile ecosystem that is truly complete. What’s the point of having desktop widgets, Netvibes (or Pageflakes) and Widsets if they can’t talk to each other? I don’t want to read the same BBC article 3 times, neither do I want to have to whip out my cell phone to look at a specific Widset if I’m already sitting in front of my computer.
If anyone can solve this problem it’s probably Google (NSDQ: GOOG).
Agreed. This is why I use Google Reader. I can use it from just about any web-connected device: laptop, work computer, mobile phone, etc. And I never have to read the same post twice (Other than Engadget, which for some reason has tremendous troubles with this).
I still think that the best combination of widgets and customization is offered by the startups such as Pageflakes and Webwag. They are both pretty cool.

Totally agreed.
I think you’ll see the mobile widget platforms mature quite a lot in the coming months/years. I’m already a huge fan of WidSets though – the potential’s there for far more than accessing RSS feeds already (mini-games etc.).
