Symbian 9.5 will be announced on Monday

In case you’ve been wondering what’s that clock on Symbian’s site, we have the answer. On Monday, during the CTIA Wireless, Symbian will announce version 9.5 of their mobile OS. Symbian is a developer of Symbian OS, the leading operating system for mobile phones.

Improvements in the new version:

• Higher performance for lower hardware cost - native support for HSDPA, HSUPA
• Faster time to market - Symbian OS v9.5 introduces new hardware adaptation interfaces for digital TV and location based services (LBS)
• Truly global - Brahmic script in Symbian OS v9.5 extends Symbian OS support of languages to cover 99% of the world’s countries
• Multimedia improvements
  • Advanced camera features including image orientation following tilt sensor, preset image enhancements, digital/optical zoom, auto focus spots, panorama stitch, image distortion correction auto-focus (red-eye reduction).
  • Improved seamless connectivity to home computers, easy transfer of music, videos and images.
  • Support for multi-standard digital TV (DVB-H, ISDB-T) and standardised LBS.
