T-Mobile USA to raise text messaging prices

T-Mobile users certainly remember February last year when T-Mobile (NYSE: DT) raised its text messaging prices. Now, they decided to do it again.
At present, T-Mobile is charging 10 cents per message sent, and the new pricing, that will start from June 1st, will increase the costs of sending SMS to 15 cents per message sent withing U.S. and Canada. That’s 50% increase in price!
At the same time, the carrier will decrease the price for sending MMS, making the new price being the same as that of regular SMS messaging - $.15 each.
In terms of international SMS, as long as the user is in the U.S. or Canada, the price will stay the same. If roaming elsewhere in the world, it will costs 35 cents to send, and 15 cents to receive a text message. Oddly, the price of sending MMS in roaming stays the same ($0.15).
SMS freaks should consider some of the T-Mobile’s messaging packages, that include any 400, 1000 or unlimited messages for $4.99, $9.99 or $14.99 per month respectively.
