Obviously this particular design is ugly as hell, but that’s beside the point. However, even just focusing on the form factor, I would imagine a simply slide down keyboard would be more efficient space vise, and potentially more sturdy, than the twisting-hinge in the video. Such a hinge must take quite a bit of space and be bulky for it be really robust.

I’ve got the point here. It’s ugly but the keyboard is the necessary evil here. Until the day that we can “think” characters to our devices we need these designs… For now I have to do it with an externalbluetooth keyboard. That works fine to me…
I’m mixed on the keyboard. It’s great to have when you need/want it, but great to not have it most of the time since you save on size and weight. The tablet actually has a very usable on-screen keyboard for chat and email… with the stylus or with your thumbs.
