The problem with the all touchscreen based devices is that the display is unreadable on sunlight. Apparently, Apple (NSDQ: AAPL)’s iPhone should have some kind of a sensor to fix this, by automatically adjusting the brightness/contrast ratio of the screen.

Now, Samsung announced the new 2.1″ QVGA LCD panel for high-end mobile phones, that should do the same thing. Samsung’s new screen will also boast a temperature compensation sensor to maintain a steady operational mode regardless of any temperature change in the environment. Furthermore, the LCD should be battery friendly, and will consume 20-30 percent less power than other displays with the same size and resolution.
Korean company’s LCD division is planning to produce the panel in the second half of this year. (via: FarEastGizmos)
