CPU information being added to spec sheets at Forum Nokia

I don’t know about you guys, but I’ve started doing some research on mobile processors and their different architectures since I know absolutely nothing about them. I used to think that all Nokia (NYSE: NOK)’s ran on TI chips, then I discovered that some models, such as the 6290, were using Freescale based solutions.

Some people care about such things, others don’t. Jon Stokes is practically a rock star to me since his analogies help me understand microprocessors better.

I was excited to see this news on Forum Nokia today:

Not having CPU information on Forum Nokia device specification pages
has been a source of complaints… well, at least source of frequent
queries from developers. This situation is getting corrected as of this
writing. S60 3rd Edition Feature Pack 1 devices (like N95 and 6290) already have this information.  Look for the CPU section on the left-hand side column.

Other device specification pages will get this information added
during the coming weeks. I hope you will find this information useful.

Of course, there are some non-Nokia sources for the CPU information, like for example this one.

I used to use Wikipedia to find such facts. It’s nice to finally be seeing this information on official Nokia documentation.
