Another picture of the Nokia 8600 turns up

If this thing runs S60 … I’m going to go nuts.

there is a profile now on M-R forum, and its S40.
How can u be so sure its S40 there is a sligh chance of it being S60 due to the large screen!

I think the keypad layout is enough for us to conclude its a s40 phone
Thats true but you cant leave out the chance it could be S60… look at it from a design point of view the 8XXX series has always about how discrete and stylish it is.. S60 functionality buttons could be on the side such as the menu button, theres probably no media key, therefore leaving us with the last key which is the “C” clear key could be on the side aswell… you have to leave room for possibility the screen is step forward it may look like S60 capable or maybe just the camera might of had an upgrade and the large screen is to display the great quality all this is a posibility…… so until they confirm this phone with all the specs you have to leave room for possibility………….another reason one may assume its S60 as it seems abit thicker than other models

duuuuuuude couldnt u posted that like before i gave my oh so wonderous speach but ok but this could still be a prototype…………………so one question i dont see much difference between 8600 and 8800 sirocco isnt this meant to be its successor?

Maybe the materials etc. are not going to be as high end as in 8800 >> lower price and “status” with similar/better specs (mainly the screen and new version of S40, stereo bluetooth profile (in Scirocco as well?), hopefully a bit better camera).
Well if it is a dumbed down version of the 8800 series but with slightly better specs it will be the point where nokia wil ruin the 8XXX reputation as 8XXX series was made to be stylish and not exactly the cheapest phone by making it cheaper and increasing some of the specs cutting down on the design(the back of the 8600 is just beyond crap) this will ruin the image of 8XXX series and all thoes who do own a 8XXX because not many people have them you can say its exclusivity will be lost as everyone will have the phone
