Does the Nokia E90 have any chance of getting S60v3FP2?

I’m just wondering since the communicator life cycle is rather long. After using FP2 at the Evening with S60 event I’m rather impressed.

That memory paging feature is jawsome. Programs were opening up in the blink of an eye and don’t even get me started about how snappy the OS was.

I know no Nokia (NYSE: NOK) employee in their right mind would leave me a comment answering this question. My email address is in the right side bar.

(The above statement is a joke. I would never publish company secrets. That would be like forwarding Nokia’s 5 year plan to Sony Ericsson (NYSE: SNE). I need to work on my sarcasm technique a little more.)

I’m glad to hear it was that good, and from you, no less. You’re typically quite the cynic. I’ve passed on the N95 and decided that my N73 will do me well until the first FP2 device is announced. If I recall correctly, when it was announced, they said the first devices will hit by Christmas. I think I might can wait.

  2. I seem to remember them saying the E90 was NOT FP2… it comes out in Q2, which is too soon for that edition, though a surprise would be nice.

I’m still jonesing for the N95 with FP1

I’m glad to hear about the speed improvement of FP2! I hope S60 will be as fast as S40 now.

Err… Did you mean that if the answer would be confidential, Nokia employees could just send you email so that you could publish it?

Sorry if I sound arrogant (no intentions), but here’s another humble career advice: if you want to get employed by a company, it might not be a good idea to urge people publicly break the confidentiality agreements and leak the company’s trade secrets. Your blog has huge visibility, and somebody in your prospective employer might be afraid that hiring you would be too risky, confidentiality-wise.

    Dunno, just a thought.

Tommi — While Stefan can come across as arrogant at times (see the Helio posts), the ‘my email address is on the side’ bit was pretty clearly a tounge-in-cheek joke. I’d be inclined to cut Stefan slack on that one.

  6. Tommi: It was a joke. I would never publish corporate secrets. Post edited to reflect that.

  7. Sorry Stefan. Now I feel like a moron :)
