Dell ends its PDA line; Will it buy Palm?

With the rise of the smartphones, PDA market has been declining for years. Finally, one of the companies that found ways to make money on the sluggish market stopped selling them. Namely, Dell removed Axim X51 off its website, and the rumors cycle started…

Dell logoPeople are speculating whether Dell will enter the cell phone market. Dell’s competitor in the computers business HP already has its line of smartphones, and with the market shifting towards mobility this move makes sense. Dell could go solo and build its phone platform from the scratch, outsource the development (use some of the existing platforms/reference designs), or… buy Palm! The money is there, and with such decision Dell could enter the phone market in a big way.

Again, it’s the rumor and there were no indication from neither Dell nor Palm. Still, we could dream… (MobileWhack)
