http://symbianguru.typepad.com/welcome/2007/04/widgets_on_your.html

I have to agree with you on this one, Stefan. I've tried Widsets (like yourself) and just don't get it. I'm skeptical until it's been proven to be 1. quick 2. useful 3. big library

I think it's horrendous that there's not a single Yahoo Widgets widget that'll check my Google RSS for me. Yes, they're competitors, but it should still be possible.

ditto, i tried to love using widgets in google desktop and opera...but they are more like distraction than being really useful...some are slow, crashes and total memory hog..some are pretty ugly too....the only way it will ever work is as simple as RSS feed with no fluffy graphic, background and all those other crap...

my 2 cents..

Don't forget this article about Nokia's infatuation with Widgets:

http://www.theregister.co.uk/2007/04/16/nokia_analysis/

Nokia get quite a mauling, and I have to say I tend to agree with the Register - Nokia have bigger problems they absolutely have to solve before they start messing around with Widgets.
