Sony Ericsson P990i running Ubuntu?

By Dusan Belic on Thursday, April 19th, 2007 at 2:00 AM PST In Applications, Linux, Sony Ericsson

What do have we here? Sony Ericsson (NYSE: SNE) P990i running Ubuntu Linux? Apparently, this guy succeeded to jump around smartphone’s system and to make some mobile version of Ubuntu working on it. On the other hand, people argue that it’s all a BS. What do you say? (via: Engadget)

    Terribly fake

Idk…Looks possible. I mean some people out there have the skills and training for things like this, I can see it being real.

you probably believe the matrix is real aswell…. look at how the keyboard lights are already on before he “turns on” the mobile, i am an electronics engineer and i can tell you that there is no simple linking you can do that will enable you to run linux, its purely a software matter trying to put another operating system on a mobile is based on decoding the firmware already installed and creating an entirely new linux protocol or making a emulator to run on symbian but of course not many symbian phones how powerful hardware to make this viable. there are emulators for wm on symbian phones its a matter off translating firmware protocols.
