Chinese Doubao 777 Window XP phoneThat’s right! There’s another smart dumbphone coming in from China. This time it’s a Doubao 777 Window XP (sic) phone from Taiwan (where else?) with an alleged Window XP operating system stuffed inside. But, it doesn’t end there. The phone is marketed as having Window XP (trademark infringement #1) but then also displays Window Mobile (trademark infringement #2) splash screens. In the land of the Red Dragon and NO apparent trade laws, this 17mm thick phone packs in a “quality” 2 megapixel shooter and stereo speakers under a 3 inch touchscreen, and is such an obvious rip from Windows XP that we can’t imagine it will remain on Taiwanese shelves for too much longer (we hear Microsoft has a whole team of lawyers for this kinda stuff).
